Pay what you want

Ebb is free for everyone, forever. If it earns a regular spot in your week, kick a few bucks our way. If not, stay free, no hard feelings. That's the whole pricing model, and there isn't a hidden second tier behind a velvet rope.

What you get free

  • GTD-based task and project management
  • Notes linked to projects, tasks, and dates
  • Daily Big Three + weekly review rituals
  • Contexts, rhythms, and time-off awareness
  • Unlimited tasks, projects, and notes
  • All current and future features, no paywalls

All features. Forever. No countdown timers, no usage caps, no “upgrade” badge that mysteriously appears the second you actually need to focus.

What supporters get

  • A vote on what gets built next. Suggest features and vote on what other supporters propose. Free users see the roadmap. Supporters help shape it.
  • Faster replies on support emails. Not because we have a fifty-person support team. Because supporters get bumped to the top of the inbox.

Why we built Ebb

Most task apps hand you a blank canvas and a thousand blog posts about how to organize it. We wanted the opposite. An app with opinions, one that quietly tells you where things go so you can stop redesigning your system every six months and actually do the work.

We also wanted a clean line between work and the rest of life. Switch contexts and the work tasks step politely out of frame. No more Sunday afternoons spent rehearsing Monday morning.

And we wanted notes and tasks to genuinely belong together, not one bolted onto the other as an afterthought. Writing should feel good. Tracking should feel light.

Ebb nudges, never nags. That's the whole pitch.

Your contribution covers the unglamorous costs (the payment processor takes a cut, servers aren't free, that sort of thing) and buys time to keep building. No investors, no growth team, no quarterly roadmap chasing whatever the internet is excited about this month.

Frequently asked

What happens if I pick $0?

Same app, same features. You skip the voting page and your support emails land in the regular queue. That's the whole difference. Pick $0 with a clean conscience.

Can I change my contribution later?

Yes. Settings, Billing tab. Bump it up, drop it down, switch to free, switch back. The math prorates itself.

Why a $3 minimum on paid contributions?

Payment processors take a cut of every charge, and below $3 that cut becomes most of it. Better the dollar stays with us than gets eaten by fees.

Do prices ever go up?

Not for you. Whatever you pick is what you pay until you change it. If we ever raise prices for new supporters, your rate stays put.

What if my card fails?

Stripe retries automatically and emails you if it keeps failing. Worst case, you fall back to free until you sort it out. No lockout, no scary popup.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime, in Settings under Billing. Your next charge stops on the spot. Past contributions are non-refundable though. This is a small operation and refund processing isn't on the menu. If you're on the fence, start at $3 or stay free. Both are solid choices.
